The perfect vehicle for transporting heavy goods, from shipping containers and pallets to concrete & steel.
D E O’Reilly run a number of standard 13.6 metre flatbed trailers. We can also supply flat trailers with PSK Twistlocks for transporting shipping containers and also supply flatbed trailers with side posts/pins for transporting steel. All trailers are also equipped with nets and tarpaulin sheets so we are ready and equipped to safely distribute a range of cargo from
bagged ballast, concrete sleepers for the rail industry, concrete goods, steel products modular buildings to palletised goods for the distribution industry. With over 30 flatbed trailers in the ever-increasing fleet all complete with fall arrest systems, 360-degree cameras, side posts end equipped to FORS silver as a minimum.
Versatility: One of the primary advantages of an artic flatbed is its versatility. The open, flatbed allows a wide range of goods, including machinery, construction materials, bagged ballast, cable drums, sleepers, steel and oversized equipment.
Easy Loading and Unloading: The flatbed design of the trailers bed makes loading and unloading cargo significantly easier compared to enclosed trailers. Forklifts, cranes or other loading equipment can access the cargo form any side, streamlining the process and reducing turnaround times.
Flexible Load Configuration: Flatbed trailers offer flexibility in load configurations. Loads can be secured using, straps or chains, enabling efficient handling of irregular shaped or non-stackable items.
Increased Payload Capacity: Flatbed trailers are generally lighter than enclosed trailers, which means a higher proportion of the total weight allowance can be allocated to the cargo. This increased payload capacity allows for more goods to be transported in a single trip, potentially reducing transportation costs.
Cost-Effectiveness: The ease of loading and unloading, along with increased payload capacity, contributes to the overall cost-effectiveness of using a flatbed trailer. Reduced loading times and ability to transport more cargo at once can lead to significant cost savings.
Time Efficiency: Artic flatbeds offer faster loading and unloading times compared to enclosed trailers, which can speed up the entire transport process. Tis time efficiency can be particularly crucial for time-sensitive projects.
Accessibility to Multiple Sides: The open design of the flatbed allows easy access to cargo from all sides. This feature is advantageous when dealing with multiple pick-up and delivery points or when unloading at sites with limited space for manoeuvring.
Ideal for Oversized Loads: Artic flatbeds are ideal for transporting oversized and abnormal loads that can not be accommodated by standard enclosed trailers. They provide a reliable solution for moving large industrial equipment and construction materials.
Visibility and Safety: The open nature of the artic flatbed ensures better visibility of the load during transportation. Drivers and operators can easily inspect and secure the load, reducing the risk of accidents and load damage.
